Breaking!: Waves touching the clouds (Video)

 This post shows a video of eye-catching display of nature, when the sea meets the skies.

Observing nature can be one of the most fascinating and awe-inspiring pastimes. We are flooded with feelings of humility before its beauty and power. Its splendour evokes contemplative feelings in our souls. We fear it, yet we seek and yearn for it. An incredible short clip showing a wave touching a whiff of clouds as it slowly ascends to the skies is one of those moments.

It’s not exactly touching a cloud. Here’s what’s happening:

The wave is flowing into the wind.

There are real clouds far above and behind the wave.

At the leading edge of the wave, water is blown by the wind into an aerosol that the wave brushes against, creating the effect.

It’s an incredible effect, and the videographer did a great job of presenting a truly colossal wave, but as incredible as it is, it’s not actually a wave touching a cloud."
